Rest in Peace

It doesn’t take long. The body isn’t even cold before bile and vitriol escape and poison everyone, it seems. Ruth Bader Ginsburg passed away at 87 after years of serving her country. May she rest in peace.nI honestly don’t care about her “politics.” nThere is only one judge and ruler over all. nDoes He pass judgment? That’s His to decide. Not mine.

When I first started this blog, I chose the name overcoffee.xyz because I feel deeply that I shouldn’t speak to anyone or post or comment to anyone what I wouldn’t say face to face over coffee.

Or face to face at Jacob’s well in Samaria.

Or in a clinic in Haiti.

Or anywhere.

Don’t get me wrong. I am no one special. I don’t want to be. I don’t pretend to be.

I fault no one for their strong feelings related our fallen justice. Loathed and Love. Hated and hallowed.

Those are misdirected emotions. There is only one human who carries such power as to draw from our deepest emotions, and I imagine Him kneeling before this woman to wash her feet. Imagine Him taking her sorrows upon Himself.

To the family and friends, I mourn with you. To those who rage, despite the tide of emotions, there are no sides. We are all vulnerable, and we will all meet the same fate as our fallen justice. Our fight against each other is misdirected. I pray we learn to value each other over our temporal differences.
